Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy originated in France in the 1950s and has now spread around the world. It is the practice of injecting small amounts of medications and vitamins into the skin to bring their healing properties to the treated areas. Mesotherapy is used in the USA primarily for reducing cellulite and fat in unwanted areas as well as for skin rejuvenation. People from all age groups can have this procedure done.
Procedure Description
Mesotherapy can be done easily in the office. The desired areas of treatment are injected with the medications. Our office uses DC or deoxycholate solutions to dissolve unwanted fatty deposits. Before and after photographs are taken. Problem areas are reviewed with the patient. The procedure will take about 30-60 minutes depending on the areas treated. Little or no pain is involved with the injections. There is minimal bruising and swelling and the patient can return to his/her daily activities immediately after the procedure.
Additional Information
Most people will require from 6-10 sessions to achieve results. These treatments are spaced 2-3 weeks apart. Dieting and exercise will definitely help to maintain one's results over the long term.
Mesotherapy is by far the most effective treatment
for unwanted fatty deposits and maybe helpful for cellulite---
Cellulite is a skin condition seen commonly in the hips, thighs, and buttocks. The cottage cheese appearance or multiple dimples on the skin occurs in over 90% of post pubescent women. It is not related to being overweight, as some people believe, but rather to genetics. When mesotherapy is performed, the cellulite area develops increased blood and lymphatic flow, decreased fibrosis of the connective tissue, and reduction of the fat deposits. The net result is a smoothing of the skin and reduction of cellulite. Mesotherapy maybe helpful to reduce cellulite, however it must be used in a select group of patients---In other words, Mesotherpy is not a cover all for all types of cellulite. At this point, there are no real alternatives. Cellulite is VERY difficult to treat and to get consistent long lasting results.
Because of mesotherapy's ability to reduce fat deposits, it is a wonderful alternative to liposuction for very small areas of fatty deposits. The mesosculpting technique uses mesotherapy to reduce spot areas of fat accumulation. For patients who do not wish to undergo the risks of liposuction, mesosculpting is the answer.
