Lip Augmentation Chattanooga, TN
We offer a wide range of options for plumping your lips and giving you a more sultry, youthful appearance. Both surgical and non surgical , permanent (lip implants) and non permanent (Juvederm injections)options are available for a lip augmentation.
Surgical Lip Augmentation
If you are looking for a permanent fix, fat transfer or lip implants may be a better option. Both procedures require a surgery performed under local anesthesia with some recovery time. Lip implants can be easily removed if ever desired.
We offer some of the latest and most advanced lip augmentation procedures Our lip implant augmentation involves the placement of a solid silicon implant —similar to silicon implants used in breast augmentation procedures. The solid silicon implant can be placed into the upper and lower lips through 3mm incisions in the corner of the mouth. These incision sites heal rapidly and are barely visible to inspection after placement. The silicon implants come in several different sizes for permanent lip enhancement.
Lip Implant FAQ
Why choose lip implants over lip augmentation injectables?
Unlike temporary lip fillers, lip implants do not wear off. Temporary injectables require repeat maintenance which the patient must commit to indefinitely in order to maintain the desired lip fullness. These injection treatments can by costly and sometimes painful. Although permanent lip injectables exist, like fat transfer, such means are not reversible. Perma Facial Implant™ has the advantage of being both permanent, yet easily reversible if the patient ever wished to remove the lip implant.
Can the lip implant rupture?
No. The type of implant our surgeons use, Perma Facial Implant™, is unique in that it is manufactured from a very soft, but solid, silicone.
How do your lip implants differ from the others?
The lip implants our surgeons use, Perma Facial Implant™, is composed of a material ideally suited for use in the facial tissues. Other implants that have been used utilize substances that can potentially cause “tissue in-growth” into the surrounding tissue—in a sense, scarring to the implant itself. This process increases the likelihood of restricted, or unnatural movement. This potential problem has been minimized due to the surface characteristics and the type of material used to manufacture the Perma Facial Implant™.
What should I expect after the operation?
The lip implant surgery itself can be performed in a simple, office setting under local anesthesia and can take less than thirty minutes. The following day, the lip implant patient may resume normal activity. You should expect to be swollen and slightly tender post-operatively. Depending on the individual, there may be some bruising as well. The majority of bruising and swelling usually subsides after the first week. Discomfort is usually present for a few days, which will be alleviated by pain medication prescribed by your physician.
How do I find the perfect size for me?
Perma Facial Implant™ is available in a variety of diameters and lengths to accommodate the uniqueness of each person’s tissue characteristics. Lip Implants: Better than the old silicon injections
The old silicon injections, like the ones completed on Ms. Priscilla Presley, caused lip deformity with invasive growth into the lip tissues. Injectable silicon is difficult to remove without major surgical excision. Silicon implants, however, can be easily removed if the lip augmentation look is no longer desired. The silicon implants have a soft natural feel.
All lip procedures may be performed in our office surgical suite with local anesthetic (field block, nerve block) and this is, in fact, an ideal way to work on the lips. With general anesthesia, the lips become flaccid and adynamic. The ability for the patient to move the lips during surgery is a great advantage during the sculpture phase.
Upon your preoperative consultation, we will discuss different options which are conducive to your desired outcome. Call us to schedule your private consultation today with our board certified surgeons!
Non-Surgical Lip Augmentation
For non surgical lip augmentation solutions, we offer Restylane and Juvederm. These fillers are more cost effective, less invasive than surgical procedures and require no recovery time. However, depending on the individual and the filler used, results only last for three to twelve months. A non-surgical lip augmentation is best for someone who wants to experiment with the volume of their lips and does not desire dramatic or permanent results.
